From America's WETLAND Newsletter - November 2007:
Energy Sustainability Forum to Unite America's Energy Coast
"The America's WETLAND Foundation is proud to partner with Louisiana State University, Louisiana's Department of Natural Resources, and the Louisiana's Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority to host the first "America's Energy Coast Leadership Forum. This Forum is brought to you through the generous donations of the Forum sponsors, Chevron Texaco and Shell."
Look whom (this Voice of the Wetlands surmises) R. King Milling as chairman of America's Wetlands and CPRA selected as spokespeople:
"The Forum's executive session, moderated by former Senator John Breaux, will also feature Mark Hurley, president of Shell Pipeline; and Senators Trent Lott and Mary Landrieu (co-chairs of the America's Energy Coast Honorary Leadership Council)."
Ex La. U.S. Senator John Breaux.
Ex Louisiana U.S. Senator John Breaux spent his entire political career furthering the interest of the oil industries free ride rape of Louisiana's coast with all type of corporate welfare taxes thrown in.
Yea introducing Mr. Grease your palm Breaux as an avid supporter of Shell's Americas Wetlands. Why not. The two go hand in hand.
Incumbent U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, selected as big oil favorite of the century by every major environmental group. Mary Landrieu is the only democrat to vote for drilling in the U.S. Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. As SOWL states on their website Mary Landrieu is no friend of the wetlands. But here is Oil and Gas Mama herself speaking on behalf of Shell, Chevron and Texaco at an event sponsored under the umbrella of Shell's America's Wetlands. Give this Voice of the Wetlands a break.
Trent Lott?
R. King Milling might as well have selected George W. Bush or Dick oil Cheney himself.
Shh not a peep about those nasty 10,000 miles of oil company canals and navigational channels dug thru Louisiana wetlands. Shh Quite on the set. It's all such a stage.
This Voice of the Wetlands now quotes verbatin from America's Wetlands November 2007 Newsletter:
"On November 30, America's Energy Coast--Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, and Mississippi--will lead an inaugural dialogue with the Gulf Coast energy-producing states. The America's Energy Coast (AEC) Initiative is creating a positive, balanced national dialogue on America's energy future, with a focus on issues of the climate, energy, and the coast, to ensure that the voices of the region are heard and their contributions are recognized.
"The first assembly of the America's Energy Coast, a one-day Executive Forum entitled "A New Sustainability for the Future of the Gulf Coast" will bring together influential policy makers with leaders in academia, industry, conservation, and non-profit agencies from across the country to discuss the necessary balance between energy sustainability and environmental stewardship. The dialogue from AEC Forums will elevate a shared vision of sustainability principles and work toward an accord among the leaders on issues of climate, energy, and the coast.
"The Forum's executive session, moderated by former Senator John Breaux, will also feature H. Dale Hall, director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; Mark Hurley, president of Shell Pipeline; Gerald E. Galloway, Professor, Glenn L. Martin Institute, University of Maryland; Sean O'Keefe, Chancellor, Louisiana State University; and Senators Trent Lott and Mary Landrieu (co-chairs of the America's Energy Coast Honorary Leadership Council).
"The America's WETLAND Foundation is proud to partner with Louisiana State University, Louisiana's Department of Natural Resources, and the Louisiana's Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority to host the first America's Energy Coast Leadership Forum. This Forum is brought to you through the generous donations of the Forum sponsors, Chevron Texaco and Shell." And so it goes.
