AMERICA'S WETLANDS IS SHELL OIL

"Shell has a long-standing belief that we must help protect our country's natural ecology. The viability of Louisiana's coast is important to all of us. Because this is an area where Shell customers, stakeholders and employees live and work, and because we are committed to our social responsibility to protect and preserve Louisiana's natural assets for future generations, Shell is especially proud to help bring Louisiana's unique ecosystem to the public's attention." - John Hofmeister, President, Shell Oil Company

It's unbelievable that Mr. Hofmeister has the audacity to even spew such outlandish rhetoric...but there it is...now here's the TRUTH from the real Voice of the Wetlands.

Shell Oil Company according to EPA documents, is one of the major polluters in the United States. In the past, Shell's Norco, Louisiana plant has had multiple explosions, resulting in massive evacuations of minority Afro-American citizens, that live in this toxic-petro-chemical corridor called: "Cancer Alley." Louisiana is a toxic dump thanks to Shell Oil and the gas industry.

Ironically, this toxic polluter, Shell Oil is now a major sponsor of AMERICA's WETLANDS and is putting up several million dollars for a AMERICA WETLANDS PR campaign touting to rebrand Louisiana's marshes as "America's Wetlands."

The Marmillion Company a big Washington D.C. public relations firm, who has had ties with Sen. Mary Landrieu, has now been contracted to handle the public relations for AMERICA's WETLANDS.

On thier website, Marmillion Company boasts of its past involvement with Landrieu, acting as her PR campaign management when she has run for political office. Also, conviently enough, Marmillion Company announced that at the beginning of 2006 Landrieu's Chief of Staff Norma Jane Sabiston will take over as their new Vice President.

U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, who is known for pushing to drill in the Artic National Wildlife Reserve (ANWR), for giving tax breaks to the oil & gas industry, and has been labelled by SOWL as a "big oil favorite" is also a spokesperson for AMERICA's WETLANDS.

Now, AMERICA's WETLANDS with it's mega-industry sponsor, and it's mega-politically connected spindoctors is convienently omitting key issues from its rhetoric. Such as...

AMERICA's WETLANDS demands federal tax payers fork over billions of dollars to restore the Louisiana costal zone. However, America's Wetlands fail to mention the erosion liability of Shell oil company and allies for the dredging of over 10,000 thousand miles of oil company canals and navigational channels dug thru Louisiana wetlands.

Since AMERICA's WETLANDS fails to bring up the known fact that oil company canals are in large part the leading cause of coastal erosion. And since AMERICA's WETLANDS has this partnership-sponsorship with Shell Oil that supports this false image of Shell Oil as a wetland-conservation supporter it lends credence to the idea that AMERICA's WETLANDS is a straw man created to take the heat off of Shell Oil by ignoring key issues.

By aligning itself and accepting sponsorship from Shell Oil Co. AMERICA's WETLANDS helps promote the concealment of the fact that there is an obvious and immediate necessity to convert from the stinking-polluting oil and gas industry to a solar-wind-alternative-economically viable energy industry with a massive energy conservation program.

So let's follow the oil and greasy steps of Shell's America's Wetland into the power play of Louisiana Coastal Restoration program. The most powerful stae agency identified with restoring Louisiana's coast is the Coastal Protection Restoration Authority(CPRA) of Louisiana.

On their website, CPRA proudly displays Shell oil's America's Wetlands logo as a partner. The chairman of Shell oil's America's Wetlands is ex President of Whitney Bank R. King Milling. And guess who is Chairman of CPRA? Yea you got it= R.King Milling.

In other words, Shell oil company one of the world's major polluters, and a company that played a significant part in digging over 10,000 miles of oil company canals thru Louisiana wetlands, is chairman of the board in determining Louisiana's coastal restoration program.

But shhh quiet-not a peep-not a word about Shell oil and other companies' liability in restoring 10,000 miles of canals and navigational channels dug thru Louisiana wetlands.

It's "Save our Louisiana Coast" using billions of dollars from the U.S. taxpayers while oil companies and their CEO's reap trillions.

And the erosion damage caused by Shell-Chevron-Mobil-Marathon-Exxon et al and their 10,000 miles of eroding canals and navigational channels dug thru Louisiana wetlands is never mentioned and quietly disappears from the record of the Coastal Protection Restoration Authority(CPRA) of Louisiana.

America's Wetlands is Shell oil company.

The chairman of America Wetlands is R. King Milling.

The Chairman of the Louisiana Coastal Protection Restoration Authority(CPRA) is R. King Milling.

The Louisiana Coastal Protection Restoration Authority=Shell oil company.

As the Jewish theologian Martin Buber stated "I am who am".

The Coastal Protection Restoration Authority of Louisiana is Shell oil.
